New Titles from Lived Places Publishing: August 2023
As summer draws to a close, we have two new books to announce – including our first title in Forced Migration Studies:
Creative Resistance: The Social Justice Practices of Monirah, Halleh, and Diala by Cindy Horst
Queer Asian identities in Contemporary Aotearoa New Zealand: One Foot Out of the Closet by Sidney Gig-Jan Wong
We now have a catalog of 18 published titles, so our rapid progress continues!
I also wanted to remind you about the second seminar in our Topics in Black Studies Series: Losing My Religion: How Organized Religion Continues to Control and Shape Black Women’s Identity, which highlights Kadian Pow's new book, Stories of Black Female Identity in the Making: Queering the Love in Blackness.
This session is free to all, join us live on THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 7 at 12 pm ET:
Hope to see you there for the live session – the first one in the series back in June was fantastic. You can watch the reply here: The Lens of Lived Experience: Music and Black Community in Segregated North Carolina.
Enjoy the remaining days of the summer!
